It's often been said that if you do something you love for a living, you'll never work a day in your life. Well, If this is true, then I haven't worked in over 25 years! And, I've loved every minute of it!
My name is Paul, and I've been blessed to be entrusted by hundreds of families over the last few decades to preserve some of the most precious memories in their lives... one frame at a time.
I purchased my first camera when I was 16 years old; an old, manual film camera called a Pentax K1000. And, interestingly enough, my wife and best friend of 28 years was one of my first models. It should come as no surprise that the love I had for her back then spilled over to what would become my newly found passion; Photography. I couldn't get enough of either of them.
I didn't consider becoming a profession Photographer until after we received our wedding photos from our hired photographer. It was an absolute nightmare! We were SO disappointed with what we received and so disheartened by our photos, that I told my wife, "I can do better than this! I'm not going to let this happen to anyone else". From there, I dedicated my time to learning the intricacies of Photography with a goal of becoming the best Photographer in New Port Richey. There wasn't going to be another disappointed wedding couple in my home town... not under my watch.
While I held a full-time job as a Creative Director for a handful of Marketing companies throughout my early years, I moonlighted on the weekends as a Wedding Photographer, producing beautiful portraits for couples to commemorate the most important event in there lives. And, it was AMAZING! I realized then that I REALLY enjoy meeting new people, working with children and using my skills and personality to put people at ease so that their photos could be a true representation of who they are. In 2004, my side hustle as a Photographer became my new career when I started Florida Sun Photography. I left Corporate America and have lived behind the lens ever since. And, to this day, I never regretted making that decision, and I STILL love what I do... and so will you!
